Winrock International

Pakistan

Decades of political and civil instability have left the Southern Asian country of Pakistan largely underdeveloped. Many communities lack adequate medical care, education, water supply, sanitation, power and transportation, while children attend overcrowded and unsafe schools. Winrock has worked with communities and governments to build capacity, as well as design and rehabilitate the infrastructure to deliver of basic services, such as education, health care, water and roads. Winrock also worked to help smallholder farmers produce high-value products that consumers want and to establish the refrigerated supply chain necessary to ensure goods are fresh when they arrive at market.
