Winrock’s legacy in China is long and varied, dating back to the 1980s and encompassing everything from supporting the education of university professors specializing in agriculture to empowering women to lifting the incomes and effectiveness of pig farmers. Today, our efforts continue to concentrate on agriculture, specifically working with Tibetans to adapt traditional farming and herding practices to a changing climate. As the environment becomes an increasingly pressing issue to Chinese citizens, Winrock is also providing training to increase the influence of non-governmental and community-based organizations in decisions that impact the health of both people and nature.
