Mohammed Edris, Winrock’s Director of Awards Management, directs the management of a diverse portfolio of awards, including proposal-stage as well as awarded contracts, grants and cooperative agreements across a broad set of funders. He also helps develop and implement systems that strengthen overall compliance with award terms and conditions, and he leads in the development and improvement of training, guidance documents and other tools. Edris has more than 15 years of contracts and grants management experience, including more than seven years working directly with USAID. He has extensive knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations, USAID policies and procedures and other regulations and systems. He’s received several performance awards in recognition of professional achievements and commitment to outstanding service in representing the United States Government with the USAID Afghanistan Mission as part of reconstruction efforts in Afghanistan. Before coming to Winrock, Edris served as principal contract administrator for Development Alternatives Inc. in Bethesda, Maryland. He has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and a Master of Business Administration degree in acquisition management. He speaks native Dari/Persian, is fluent in Pashto and also speaks Hindi and Urdu.
