Julie Lasseter, Winrock ‘s Director of Development and Public Policy, spearheads raising Winrock’s profile to major investors, partners, public officials, and federal and state government agencies. She blends her experience in marketing, policy, strategy and budgetary negotiations to promote Winrock’s economic development work in the U.S. and globally. Prior to joining Winrock, Lasseter worked in the public sector as a presidential appointee in the Office of the Secretary of Defense, providing strategic guidance regarding DoD’s $850 billion real estate portfolio, environmental liabilities, renewable energy, community economic assistance and operational energy. Lasseter also served on Capitol Hill for three members of Congress including acting as a senior adviser on appropriations and national security to Sen. Mark Pryor (D-Ark), Rep. Derek Kilmer (D-Wash.) and Rep. Vic Snyder (D-Ark). Prior to working on Capitol Hill, Lasseter has worked for political campaigns, a fundraising firm, a think tank and as an independent consultant. A native of Little Rock, she has a B.A. from the George Washington University and an M.B.A. from the Darden Business School at the University of Virginia.
