Sustainable Agriculture
Winrock is committed to transforming the lives of small- and mid-size sustainable producers
through value-added strategies. Winrock has expertise in aggregating smaller producers,
facilitating access to credit and financing sources, and brokering links between producers
and buyers. Winrock also focuses on helping small- and medium-size producers become
market ready.
Cooperative development and supply chain expansion projects are the foundation of our
sustainable agriculture program.
Projects include: providing technical assistance and support for sweet potato farmers, poultry
producers, and fruit and vegetable producers; encouraging diversification from traditional crops;
building capacity among historically underserved producers; and strengthening relationships
between producers and mid- to large-scale and institutional buyers for local and regional food systems.
