Reducing Carbon Emissions in IndonesiaRATIONALEThe Government of Indonesia is developing a strategy for the country to engage in activities to reduce emissions from deforestation and requested technical advice on various topics including baselines and monitoring methods. By providing technical assistance to Indonesia, we help advance their understanding of this topic to enable the GoI to provide internationally acceptable and recognized GHG emissions and emissions reductions from changes in land use. OBJECTIVES • Study 1: Develop methods for estimating, and measuring and monitoring the state and change of forest carbon stocks in Indonesia • Study 2: Quantification of past and future (Business as Usual) carbon emissions ACTIVITIES STUDY 1 Output 1. Method for estimating forest carbon stocks and changes in carbon stocks from deforestation/ Output 2: Method for monitoring forest carbon stocks and carbon stock changes from deforestation and degradation.
