Women, children and youth actively
contribute to family incomes, values and
well-being. Yet, many economic, leadership
and civic engagement programs minimize
their participation and fail to apply a gender
framework that ensures equal access to
goods, services and outcomes. Winrock takes
an integrated, community-based approach
that strengthens local organizations, builds
confidence in women and youth, creates social
and marketable skills, and achieves active
participation in local development. In this way,
Winrock is empowering citizens to transform
their families and communities while addressing
hunger, child labor, trafficking in persons, school
dropout, unemployment, child marriage and
other problems that stem from developmental
neglect.
